Enphase notes

These are instructions for connecting or reconnecting your Enphase IQ Gateway Combiner to your home LAN. They are from https://support.enphase.com/s/article/Reconnecting-your-Envoy-ManualWifi.

• Open the Enphase IQ Gateway Combiner box; we're going to be working up at the top inside. (Hint: This will be done more easily in shade or low-sunlight conditions.)
1. Enable gateway AP mode.
• Enable gateway AP by pressing briefly the AP mode button (outlined in red below):

  

  The API mode LED (outlined in green above), the second LED from the left, should light up solid green (in addition to others further right that are already lit because your Combiner is working).

  If you press this button for too long, you will enter WPS mode. You will need to wait for a couple of minutes for the WPS-pairing mode to time out. (I don't cover WPS pairing here since I don't use it. See Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).)

2. Connect your smartphone or notebook computer to the gateway.
• Navigate to your WiFi settings, then connect to a WiFi network named "Envoy_XXXXXX" where "XXXXXX" is your gateway's serial number. Copy down this serial number accurately (every thing after the underscore): you will need it in at least one subsequent step.
• Open a browser on your device to address 172.30.1.1. This will launch the Enphase Gateway Configuration page, something like this:

  

3. Temporarily forget the old Wi-Fi network on your device.
• Under Monitoring, tap on Wi-Fi. When prompted, provide the Gateway Username as "envoy" and enter the Password which is the 6 digit serial number you copied down in an earlier step.
• Tap Sign In. This will return you to the Enphase Gateway Configuration page where you will see "Connected to EEGUEST" under Wi-Fi Network.
• Tap More Info and then Forget this Network. You must detach from whatever network you were attached to in preparation to become the Enphase Envoy device temporarily and finish configuring it. (Afterward you will return your device to its original settings as you'll never need to perform this again unless and until the Enphase Combiner loses its connection to your home LAN.)
4. Connect the new Wi-Fi network
• Tap the View Networks button and choose the wireless access point on your LAN that you want your Enphase Envoy Combiner firmare to connect to.
  
  

  (If you can't find a network on your LAN, it's likely because your combiner is not in range of one. Your solution will be to enhance your home network's connectivity by adding another or strengthening an existing access point—not covered here.)

• Tap Connect and enter that 6-digit password you wrote down (again). Tap Connect.
• If the LED underneath the cloud icon (see illustration above) lights up green, you're successfully connected.
• It can take some time, as much as a day, for the Enphase Combiner to synchronize its data with the Enphase Cloud where it is stored. If connection is new or was lost forcing you to engage these instructions, it could take as long as an hour for every day of disconnect.
